Aurangabad, Nov 12 (ENA)  The school education department of Maharashtra has announced that it would conduct a special aptitude test for its students to help them make the right career choice.

To be conducted for the first time, the test will be conducted both online and offline at all schools affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), to ensure that all students have the opportunity to appear for the same.  Over 15 lakhs students are expected to appear for the test that will conducted in February 2016, prior to the board exams, according to a report by the Business Standard.

The state government has decided to conduct such a test owing to the increasing number of students opting for higher education in the state.  Besides, career counselling will also be provided based on the outcome of results, the report said.

Students who appear for the test will be awarded a special certificate based on outcome of aptitude test.

It is hoped that the move will help students in selecting the right career path.   While the MSBSHSE will take on the responsibility of conducting the aptitude test and declaring its results, the Mumbai-based Institute of Vocational Guidance and Selection and its eight regional offices have been entrusted with responsibility of guiding students on their career choices.  (ENA Bureau)
