NEW DELHI, MARCH 18 (ENA) The Osmania University has been nominated by the Indian Congress Association to host the 105th Science Congress that will take place from January 3 to 7, 2018. After 20 years, Osmania University is again hosting the Indian Science Congress.

Prof. S. Ramachandram, Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University has received communication from Achyuta Samanta, General President of Indian Science Congress Association. He confirmed that Osmania University has been selected to host the prestigious 105th Indian Science Congress. The 105th Science Congress is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

Around 5,000 scientists and researchers from government, private, research and educational institutions are expected to take part in the Congress.

In January 2017, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati hosted the 104th Indian Science Congress. Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi inaugurated it. The theme of the 104th Science Congress was ‘Science and Technology for National Development’.

During the 104th Indian Science Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conferred the prestigious ‘Millennium Plaques Honor’ to Prof. Appa Rao Podile, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad. He played a crucial role in the development of Science and Technology and received recognition for his contribution.
